The Unmediated Body

The unmediated body
Resembles a cave, clear entryway
without distinctive ending place

Gleam splints in from recess, claw,
Ransom. Another man’s body, the wife lets
it dissolve: she needs dissociation to maintain
presence. “This means not at all beyond this

Right here.” To be not a recipient
but to edge one’s mind and body
up to even, evening, the recess placing
Mind, here, body,

there. It is silly to align the two—
Redundant.
What is needed is an entirely
new term to describe this

Drift, and so making a world where
There are no husbands,
No wives, there in the churn of
Flesh-breath-mind we give each

Other
back to each Other.
